Swapped out the factory flasher relay for the TapTurn relay. Back to regular flashing! Hooray!

Changed the tail lights to LEDs. Only need to replace the front turn signals with LEDs. Ordered today.

Pulled dash apart to install new Combo meter from Texas Hybrids.

During my junkyard runs over the last few weeks, I managed to pick up the upper and lower part of the steering column surround, the upper glove box lid, and lower glove box lid from a couple of 2008 models. I'm not sure if it's just 2004 that had this brownish smooth finish, but I like the textured black finish of the later models. One other difference that threw me was that the interior dimmer is different both in size and the wire connector between 2004 and 2008. I'll figure out how to adapt my older wiring for the new dimmer so I can use the new dimmer in the opening for the dimmer in the column surround trim. I like that there are three openings vs. two in my 2004.

Just wondering how much this project cost you? And how much are you at now? The parts are probably really cheap at the junkyard

    Junkyard finds:
    Cargo cover - $50
Factory JBL speakers (pair of front mids and tweeters) - $10

Since it got too dark to continue working on the car, I moved inside. Last bit of work before I hit the sack. I plan on painting the scratched up silver steering wheel trim pieces to match the dashboard trim - all black. I'll probably paint the plastic pieces on the armrest also.[IMG]
