    Variable blending is superior than separating one mode for the battery and another mode for the gas engine. Prius PHV intelligently selects the best blend so everything is automatic. Who cares which energy is used when. Let the engineers figure it out and all I am concerned is driving.

    Because there's a break/junction in the connection that could get wet (and apparently did in one case in boston)
