    Hello all
As of right now i have an 06 odyssey. Iam selling her because all the motor mounts keep going an iam tired ofpayong $2600-3200 every time. Anywho, my sis in law recommended a prius. I came acros and 08 prius 141k looks brand spanking new inside an out. She runs pretty smooth from what i can tell. First time with a y hybrid. Breaks are touchy nice and new. Since i dont know much about the hybrid because i never owned one i been looking on thsi forum and reading. Iam excited but at the same time really nervous. The diy repairs once i get correct tools i can do. The hubby and i been learning. I guess i need to know which is the best diagnostic to buy for myself incase i need to figure out whats wrong with the car if i come across any problems. What spark plugs oil tranny fluid etc is best to use as well as i will be doing the oil, transmission fluid and spark plugs as soon as i get her. The dealer iam getting her from buts from auctions there is a tag inside window which states oil was changed in dec 2016 but i would like to redo it all for my own peace of mind. I gotta pretty good idea how to change the 12v. I wont be doing that right away but it is on my list to do. I also been studying the whole replace cells on the battery but iam not grasping what to use or how to use a thing( sorry cant think of the name) to properly charge an discharge before reinstalled. Got a lot of learning to do. The car is originally from florida but iam moving back to knox tennessee. I heard wether can have an impact on my battery. Idk iam so nervous with this buy. It feels right. The car is silent no noises or shaking etc soni think i might have gotten lucky. We will see. Will take me a bit to understand this car but i need a gas saver. I drive alot. This will cut down once i move to tennessee. I guess iam looking for the need to haves with tools and what the car needs etc . now iam babbling. Does this sound like a good deal 08 prius 141 k for 4400

You have to first find out why this was at auction. Was it a repaired wreck? If you think the odyssey was bad, it'll be really good compared to a problematic prius

I am no expert but if it feels good and drives good and you have warranty, enjoy your car.

My 2009 that I just got from a private seller (no warranty) had 230,000 Miles but it felt right on the test drive. It needed a few things and I was able to negotiate that in the purchase price.

What do you mean by 30 warranty on Battery?
We need to know what state you are in re: CARB warranty length can be up to 150k miles, if the car qualifies.
Gen2 spark plugs iridium last 125k miles even up to 141k+ and fairly easy to replace DIY. I just used my old Sears wratchet wrench and spark plug socket.
Some of big things typically going bad in that miles range are HV battery, speedometer/combo meter display (9 yr warranty), also check the visual display pushpad for correct operation as those go bad sometimes. Seems like those of us buying new rarely have those issues, whereas used buyers see those things more oten.

you can check it with tech stream. mini vci is just the cable from the obd to the laptop.

for repairs, you can subscribe to toyota tech info for $15./day.

Yes clean car fax clean title. I wish i took pictures. Shes surprisingly nice an on my test drive i could barely feel her unless i was a stop sign waiting so i can go i can tell when electric kicks in. I thought the car died but its to my understanding that is a normal feeling.
