Newbie with error codes

    Hello! Greetings from San Diego. I have a 2007 Prius with 240,000 miles. I've been researching what is wrong with it. I am getting a Red Triangle and the VCC warning light comes on. The car will not go into the Ready position after I restart the car. I have to to take off the battery to reset the computer. I have used multiple ODB2 readers and I get the following error codes:

    P0AA6 from a Bosch reader
    C1310 from a Innova reader

    from a non-hybrid mechanic I get from the Toyota Hybrid Sub Codes List:
    P0069-273: Manifold Absolute Pressure- Barometric Pressure Correlation
    P0340-888: Camshaft Position Sensor '' A Circult
    P0343-747: Camshaft Position Sensor" A Circuit High input
    P0516-769 Battery Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
    P0517-770 Battery Temperature Sensor Circuit High
    P060B-134 Internal Control Module AVD Processing Performance
    P060B-135 Internal Control Module AVD Processing Performance

    The check engine light does not come on at all.

    I'm not sure what the root cause is. I was wondering if the community can help me diagnose this?

    That is a lot of codes. How good is your 12 v battery?

    Check the 12V battery first. When it goes south, all kinds of codes pop up.

    P0AA6 is a real code, could be there's a voltage leak in the HV system. C1310 is real, it's the brake computer saying the HV system told it there's a problem (which could reasonably be the P0AA6).

    I don't trust the "non-hybrid mechanic"'s equipment at all. There are only two codes in that list that even exist for a Gen 2 Prius. (Well, in the 2006 manual, anyway. Did they invent that many new codes for 2007 in completely different ranges? Or is that mechanic using some very confused scan tool? My money's on the latter.)

    I bought a new battery a few weeks before the problems started. The non-hybrid mechanic is a friend of mine who graciously allowed me to use his more expensive scan tool at no charge. I performed the scan myself the second time around to be sure.

    I will perform the the following:
    1. I'll take the 12v battery offline and perform a load test against it to verify the health of the battery.
    2. recommendations in this New 12v and 06 Prius still wont go into "D" or "R" | PriusChat

    Since the post:
    I took it to a Hybrid mechanic this week and they suspect it's the motors that are connected to the transmission that is starting to go based on their experience. They are recommending a new transmission swap. (They seem to work on a lot of Priuses that are taxi based on my observation) However, the error codes are not definitive.

    Right, to quote @JC91006, in that other thread:

    "There are many areas that can cause this fault. And none of them are cheap to fix.

    1. Hv battery
    2. Transaxle
    3. Ac compressor
    4. Inverter

    Just to name a few"

    Hopefully they can isolate the area that is shorting out and replace that component with one from a wreck. Otherwise, it could get very expensive.

    Updated change. I got a new error code today! I can't believe I'm getting excited over a new code. I just got a P0A80. with a quick google it looks like Battery? Looks like I have a place to start troubleshooting.
