How do these differ from the chargers currently listed on your web site?

Great question :) We have added some new safety and convenience features. The new design is fully isolated and we now have a power switch so you don't have to unplug the unit to turn it off.

Most importantly, we reduced the price by over 10%, largely due to the labor savings we are able to obtain with the new more efficient assembly process. We rolled out the price reduction in January so all recent customers have received the new lower pricing. We are happy to pass the cost savings achieved by the new design through to our customers.

Neat! By "fully isolated", I assume you are referring to electrically?

Yes, full isolation between the HV and 12V circuits. The prior generation features partial isolation, which protect against everything except an extremely remote scenario (car on, battery compartment open, touching HV battery terminal with your body) where a ground path could exist. To be in that situation would require going against our operation guidelines and some serious lack of good judgement by the user. Even though there has never been an instance of someone doing this, we modified the design (making it more complex while still reducing overall cost) to remove this very remote scenario. The new fourth generation design has full isolation.

Got one of these bad boys in early March and they look even better in person. And results? The capacity on my aging 2006 hybrid battery has improved by more than 100%. Obviously, I am very happy with the product and results.

Just got mine. Jeff You guys do a excellent job on the shipping and com and thanks for the PC shipping discount.
Its very strange looking power supply you'd never know it was a power supply. Its really cool looking. Can't wait to use it. I'm sure its great.
Just getting all my stuff together to add that 200 volt Inverter pigtail we talked about. Lots of pics to follow.
I'll probably go with the Converdant Hi Volt Inverter also. I have a bad feeling this season is the season Florida see's a really bad hurricane.
Tampa area has been so lucky.
I'll be ready this year. I'm a very picky engineer but I like what I see from your company so far.
    Thanks again!!

Hi Jeff, looking to pick up one of these and finally get it installed in my HiHy.

Do you still need to install the battery fan controls as I don't see them in the photo on the website?
(my assumption was yes but just wanted to make sure)

    Thanks!

Yes we have detailed instructions for the HiHy install here:
2006 - 2013 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Installation Instructions - Hybrid Automotive

It does require tapping into the three cooling fans to ensure the battery is properly cooled. This picture shows the coolign fan control modules installed:

Pretty invisible once the process is done ;-)

Thanks again Jeff. Not too worried, just wanted to make sure the fans were still part of the package. Great job on streamlining the product and lowering the price too! I will definitely pick one up and post when I get it installed. Hope to get back some battery capacity too in the process.

Just out of curiosity have you sold any HiHy ones yet and did they see any improvement?

Glad to help. Yes we have sold 25 or so of them and received several positive reports. The RX400h community is using them as well, since the hybrid battery system is identical.

Just ordered one, can't wait to get it installed and see how well it works.

Will do a write-up on here too when I get time.

@jeff652 Is there anything in the works for 2012 Prius Plug-In or would that not be necessary since it's already a plug-in?

I would imagine the plug in would benefit from it too as you are discharging it and charging it way out of its normally software controlled regions which is what basicly rejuvenates it.
If your battery is showing signs of aging and has not thrown any failure codes yet that is really the best time to prolong it. That’s what I did about 10/months ago and it’s been like a brand new battery ever since.

I did a really mild discharge to it and apparently that’s all that was needed as I got fantastic results.
Maybe Jeff will weigh in and see if anything is available for your car yet.

The last Jeff said, he does not yet have anything for the Li-Ion battery in the plugin.
I believe he is currently concentrating on promoting his new Pro reconditioning for repair shops. It is quicker, but too expensive for individuals, IMHO.
