Next random song

    Had the prius for well over a year, but figure I'd ask anyway as its one of those little annoying things that gnaw at me every day. So I have a CD of MP3s and I'm playing songs with random on. When I press the ^ or v buttons on the MFD, the system plays the next or previous song wrt to the currently playing song instead of the next random song. Is that the way its supposed to behave? I really wish I can skip to the next random song or go back to the previous random song.

    The 2010 has the same annoying 'feature'.

    In the engineering world, another spelling of this word is *b*u*g*.

    You obviously never worked for SUN. It's called an undocumented feature.

    I'm not sure it's a bug as it could be by design. I too am a bit annoyed by this. My Nissans when in random mode (w/CDs) always went to the next random song.

    Infoworld ages ago had a column where they joked that if you weren't sure if it was a feature or a bug, call it a fug.

    Unfortunately, yes. If you want another random song, I just press RAND twice (once to turn off, and then turn on RAND again)
