This is a quick, practice poll, that ends in three days to test the poll questions and responses. My intention is to make one for:
    • NHW11 Owner: survey
    • NHW20 Owner: survey
    • ZVW30 Owner: survey
    • 'Prius v' (need model) Owner: survey
    • 'Prius c' (need model) Owner: survey
    • 'Prius Plug-In' (need model) Owner: survey
    Right now, my thinking is:
    1. Did you own or lease a Prius or hybrid before buying this model?
    2. Did you buy or lease this particular Prius model new?
    3. Have you owned more than one other Prius this model or other?
    4. Do you typically drive a total of 1-10,000 miles per year?
    5. Do you typically drive a total of 10,001-12,500 miles per year?
    6. Do you typically drive a total of 12,501-15,000 miles per year?
    7. Do you typically drive a total of 15,001-20,000 miles per year?
    8. Do you typically drive a total of over 20,001 miles per year?
    9. Do you also have a non-hybrid car?
I'll check the usual places to get the model numbers for the other Prius.

    From my test responses:
    1. This was the first Prius owned or leased.
    2. This was a used Prius when bought.
    3. We're in the 15-20,000 mile per year bucket.
    4. We have a non-hybrid vehicle, an RV that my wife has only ridden in once and has not run in the past two years.

This 2002 was our first and only Prius so far, purchased new. Replaced the HVbattery at 219,000 (Luscious Garage installed a new Toyota battery). Currently getting woeful mileage (maybe 41, very low for us even as winter mpg) and I'm thinking it's time to look at replacing the 12v (original) and maybe cleaning the throttle body and sensor again...

"Have you owned more than one other Prius or hybrid?"

I worded this question badly. It should be:

"Have you owned a different model Prius or hybrid?" - the idea is to see what extent the owner of the NHW11 had experience with any other Prius either before or after.

I need to rethink the first three questions. I'm interested in:
    • how many bought the NHW11 as their first Prius or hybrid - capture from gas or diesel vehicles
    • was this first one bought used? - degree that a used Prius provides hybrid 'capture'
    • how many own a second Prius or hybrid - 'loyalty' to hybrids
    • was the second one bought new? - degree that 'capture' boosted future new sales
I don't think the miles per year provides much insight or the scales are off. I was trying to identify 'casual', 'average', and 'road warriors.' I'll probably cut it down into three groups: 1-10,000; 10,001-15,000, and; 15,001-more if I keep it.

The last question needs more details or a separate poll. We know Prius and hybrids do not cover all vehicle groups:
    • vans / minivans
    • pickups / campers
    • SUVs
    • sports / performance
    • luxury or upscale
    • EV / plug-in
I'm open to suggestions about the poll . . . how to make it more useful and resolve ambiguity.

would it be useful to ask if the Prius bought was a "Certified" used car? My first Gen 1 had been a demonstrator that was sold as a Certified Toyota. My first Gen II was also a Certified car. It wasn't until we bought a second Gen II that we got a brand new Prius.
