    I was sitting waiting for a train today and it was so cold that even with it set at 65 the ICE wouldn't turn off, yet I watched my range go down very slowly. What's the deal?

    turn off the auto, ICE will turn off then:D

    It's always worked like that in cold temps.
    It sucks, but there's nothing you an do other than use the seat heat and be happy to have a warm car...

    yeah....65 is still warmer than 12 over here. So I turn off the auto when I'm warmed up.:cool:

    How far did it go down and in what period of time? And how full was the battery?

    The battery was probably in the 45 or 50% range I'm guessing. During the 7-10 minutes I sat there it went down about .4 miles.

    We see a similar occurrence when we leave EV mode to head out on the highway in HV, the EV range seems to diminish at first but is then normalized later. Do you feel that what you saw was something different?

    I have observed the same. ICE running (cabin heat) yet EV range decreased. A bit perplexing but I think this is a special mode or something unique about PiP.

    I am not sure if the actual SOC got lowered or the estimate gets (re)calculated based upon idling.

    I'll check it out with Torque app to see what's really going on.

    Mine does this also. If I'm sitting in my garage in the morning I hit the EV button to turn it off since my car needs to warm up. The miles drop from 12.6 to 11.8 within a minute or so.

    It would be interesting to hit the "energy monitor" function on the big nav display when the OP's situation happens to see where the battery power is going...

    I just came back from the store, had to use ice since it's zero outside, on the way after the car warmed up I turned off auto and my EV jumped from 7.0 to 7.8

    SGH-M919 ?
