No Garage, no PHV?

    which is commonly known as the "charger". this is incorrect. the charger is internal to the car. the EVSE supplies the power to the charger.

    so it can be similar to an extension cord like the 120 volt emergency charger that comes with the Leaf which has a standard 120 volt plug on one end and the J1772 connector on the other.

    there are also hard-wired 240 volt chargers also using the J1772 connector

    You should be able to hard-wire a unit and as long as the unit is waterproof be in good shape.

    Wonder how much it was cost to set up a power supply outside the home for plugging in???
