My 2007 has been sitting for over a year. I replaced the 12V battery purchased at dealership. Vehicle "turns on" with red triangle, brake, ABS, VCS, etc. HV battery indicates 0 (no lines) on display. No READY light, ICE doesn't come on. Only able to shift in Neutral on joystick. Any suggestions. Is HV battery totally dead and needs to be "refreshed" (option available at local Prius shop). Thanks in advance!!

Did you mess with the orange interlock on the HV battery? If you did, you probably didn't lock it back in place before starting the car.

Seeing your car is a 2008 with an original HV battery, chances are the HV battery is going to be out of balance. You can try to see if someone has equipment for you to charge the HV battery before you start the car. That may save the battery.

If you start the car without charging the HV battery, you'll probably get a Hybrid error that will require you to change the HV battery.
