If anyone is able to help me out in ANY way possible, please, please comment!

Yesterday afternoon I got into my car, and it started normally. I reversed out of the driveway and shifted to drive. The car went to neutral. Tired to shift into drive again to no avail. Tried to park with the park button, car stayed in neutral. Pushed power, nothing. Finally I held the power button for a few seconds, the car went into park and shut off. I waited 10+ seconds and tried to start it again. The vehicle started up, and I was able to shift into drive. However, the dash lights are all out now. The speedometer, fuel, shift diagram and ready lights will not illuminate. My right and left signals do not work, however the hazards work when the button is pressed. The energy monitor still works although the current MPG's stay ay 0. The backup camera will not work when in reverse, and starting the car which used to result in a few beeps, now makes no noise. Something else strange is when the headlights or daytime running lights are on and the drivers door is opened with the car running, it beeps as if the door was opened when the car was in drive. Reverse lights do not work, nor do the fans on any speed.

I installed an aftermarket headunit, have a subwoofer installed on the 12v battery, have the reverse camera mod installed as well.

I took it into a Toyota dealer where they started to look at it. They wanted to charge a hefty amount to look further into the issue. They told me they replaced a fuse and two bulbs which worked until the brake was pressed. Power was backfed into the system.

    Please help!!!

There's a 9 year extended warranty on the instrument cluster problem. I hope you still have time, you have a 2007

Thanks for the quick reply there. Yes I am aware of the extended warranty. Ironically today is the last day it's valid. Unfortunately the dealership said the Instrument Cluster panel is not the issue.

I hope it's fully documented that you complained about the cluster failure. You will need it if they misdiagnosed your car and that happens again when you're out of warranty

I have the same problem except I did not have any bulbs burn out. All my parking lights and brake lights work except for my reverse lights. My problem comes and goes. It doesn't always act exactly the same in respect to the power switch. I have a feeling it's a bad ground or bad relay somewhere. I will get to the bottom of this.

Poking around priuschat a bit and Google it looks like this is definitely a multi-function display problem. I'll fix mine and confirm with everyone later but for now here's a quote from expected symptoms with a link that has a lot further explanation.

"The cluster may go down while driving or at initial start-up. Sometimes the condition coincides with a batch of interesting behaviors: the reverse lights, power button, and rear hatch release are inoperative. This is especially disturbing since it makes it challenging to turn the car off."

To be completely accurate, it is a Combination Meter (aka combo meter) problem, not a MFD problem. The power switch, speedometer, and dash lights are all controlled by the combo meter. Apparently there is a capacitor on that module that can become dysfunctional. Matt @Texas Hybrid Batteries has a process for making the repair. If you don't trust your own soldering skills, I believe you can ship your old Combo Meter to Matt, tell him the mileage that was showing on the odometer when it failed, and he will ship you a repaired Combo Meter with an upgraded capacitor for a reasonable price.
