I'm convinced it's just the way the car was designed. Whoever decided that the car should connect wirelessly to the network frequently, probably didn't talk to the guy who decided a small 12V battery was good enough. Maybe this will be addressed in future models, but the dealer has shared nothing with me so far.

No one else has your problem of a battery maintainer being required every night otherwise the car won’t start in the morning. So, no, it is not a design flaw.

I don't think you're gonna win this one, friend. You would have admitted you were in the wrong, were you a better person.

Well, that's good to know. Have you checked your facts?

As you have probably found out by now, he will never give you an honest, straight answer.

I'm tired of answering all your questions, again and again. Just read up.

So, you do not want to share the paperwork of the last service visit, which would show what they checked and found for the battery draining problem. It would all be writing.

Mentioning a problem during each scheduled service visit is not the same as having them diagnose the problem during a visit.

I guess you will not be getting much help in this forum if you are unwilling to answer the questions that are asked?

I guess this ends the discussion of the 12v battery drain in your Prius if you are not very concerned about it.

Should I ask a moderator to lock this thread?

He actually has corrected his problem now because he has read my posts and remedied his ignorant mistake of setting his battery-isolator cut-in voltage to 12.1 V, which was draining his primary battery everyday in a matter of hours. He will still need a new battery though, as not much Ah capacity would remain after so many full drains because of the sulfation they lead to.

Now that his problem is fixed thanks to me helping him, he will still act obnoxious not to admit that he was the one who caused the problem, but he will blame Toyota for a design flaw and us for not getting our facts straight and so on. That is what he has been doing here since Day One, starting with his bogus claim that Gen 5 Prius used an AGM battery despite everyone telling him that wasn’t the case and he attacking them for that. He lacks technical skills, is solely guided by his ego, will never disclose and/or admit mistakes, and is antisocial toward others. And, yeah, he constantly distorts facts and lies, too.
