It does but out lovely government will not allow a switch over here But I would guess that the wire harness is the same as the JA version so we can likely order the switch assembly and plug it in. Ours likely has a jumper in place of the switch which would be taken out then plug the switch in. Now someone needs to take their dash apart and show us some pics Who's gonna be the first victim? Mike
I was reading the v forums and read member anewhouse's post about installing cproaudio's navigation speed lock bypass. anewhouse said that he had a connector plugged into a blank plate I wonder if it could be for a proximity warning bypass switch? I doubt that is what it is for it is probably for the heated seat switch. http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-v...lock-override-pc-shop-in-prius-v-success.html

Oh, then you really need to do yourself a favor and go the the HRO or other Dealer websites, Manufacturers sites also, and see what wonderful new toys they have come up with in the last 40 years!!! If my wife NEEDS another pair of shoes I think I can spend a buck or two on some cool ham toy! Which, by the way, is much more practical than a pair of 4" heels anyday!
the C is what I have and it's easier to disconnect.. however, I can still reach my hands down into the regular GenIII and the PIP.. i wasn't joking. my arms aren't that skinny.. but i suppose still moreso than most others..
IDK, possibly. I am still reading that thread Takes me a while with distractions around here. Mike :tea:
I also keep my license active. (I don't publish my call sign for the same reason I don't give my last name on a board where controversy and tempers sometimes run high. Sorry about that.) But I have not had any equipment since I went away to study Spanish in Mexico nearly two decades ago. I operated mostly CW, low to medium power. An HW8 I built myself, and a TenTec with 80 watts input. Dipoles on 160, 80, and 40 and a vertical for 10, 15, and 20 I became a ham to be able to chat with people in far-away places, and to have a 2-meter rig in the car for emergencies. Nowadays, the internet and a cell phone offer the same functionality more reliably. I was actually drifting away from radio before I left for Mexico, due to the lack of courtesy on the airwaves. I had a lot of fun with CW, though. Sorry for the digression. :focus:
I have plans for my solar roof to use it to charge a small SLA battery when operating QRP portable. The panel is rates 22v 3.6a in full sunlight. Run that into a switch, charge controller then into a accessory jack to charge my battery Mike ..
SquallLHeart, I tried again and am having problems. Can you take a few photos of where the speaker is and the wire you disconnected? Thanks,
I am not sure I am looking at the speaker...and don't want to be unplugging random things. Is it in the hole to the right of the inverter assembly. Down in that abyss? If not, what is this doodad?
Ok...answered my own question. Did a little more digging on this board and found this, where a person is shown removing a speaker. Confirmed that this works with the PiP.
Success! Just took another attempt with this on my PIP. Since I knew how the thing looks like now from terry's link to the ct forum..(fyi.. Terry's pictures are pointing to the noise maker) I was able to trace it back to the power connector. I'm posting this from my Tapatalk so I wasn't able to draw arrows. You can see the white connector in the pictures that you need to disconnect. I had to unclip the hose right above it for easier access. I had my gf stick her skinny arms down to unplug it but she was too weak. I then tried and was successful! (My gf claims that she loosened it for me) For reference, my arms are somewhat stumpy and meaty. Goodluck!
There IS an easier way. -Turn steering wheel to the right. -Pull the three or four (can't remember) pins on the front of the driver-side wheel well. -Fold out the wheel well panel. -There it is...right in front of you. Unplug the white pin by pinching down on the back of it. -Put your wheel well pins back in. -Throw away your new shirt that you just rubbed all over your tire. I really got aggressive unplugging mine. It took a 10mm socket. I weighed it and the two bolts holding it on. 0.84 lbs. Just think of the improvement in mileage after all that weight is dropped!! I will put it back in when some clever prius owner figures out how to play different sounds through it...like a big dog bark or something.
