I also get false notifications that someone has replied or liked a post, but there’s either nothing there, or it’s old and I’ve already seen it

Refresh seems to be needed more on my iPhone, using Safari. Windows 10 pc currently using Google Chrome maybe not as bad (showed proper alerts just now).

It's been reported and reported, just frustrating, that nothing gets done, or even some acknowledgement there's a bug.

For me, using Brave, nothing changed when the attachments were fixed.

Editing remains perfectly solid - it autosaves drafts in the background, and they're preserved when you come back to a page, and when they're posted they appear immediately. Alerts appear spontaneously, without even reloading, and are shown clearly with mouse over or clkicking.

I don't use "new posts", so can't really say anything about refresh there. Checking it now, it's all stuff from the last couple of hours, in order, and clicking on a few seems to show it's accurate. Will test after posting this...

Maybe try clearing cookies for the site? Maybe there's some glitch with some old cookies set by the old server, and people with that cookie are affected?

Okay, "new posts" I guess is doing what it should. Was expecting this thread to appear after my post, but I guess the point is to show new stuff you haven't seen, so not somewhere you've just posted.

I view stuff, and click on "New Posts" again the stuff I viewed has been removed. However I do get old information if I use the back button to go back to "new posts" - refresh or clicking on "new posts" updates it.

Maybe it is Safari-specific? Still worth trying a cookie clear.

Just going to report that I haven't seen any issues with Fire Fox on a PC.

I use New Post frequently and I have no issues. Once I read a thread, touching New Post again and that thread isn't showing anymore. The only issue I have on Firefox on Android is sometimes when typing a message, while editing it and touching the screen to move the cursor in a spot, it reverts to the main forum view, but going back into the thread, my text is still in the submit window and can continue editing it.

I have no issues sending screenshots and I sent an attachment yesterday through Windows Firefox.

Does seem to depend on the device and software. On my pc alerts worked fine just now. Then on my Turn off signatures in Tapatalk Safari:

then after a refresh of the page:

And that is strange as heck, the bold text I typed was "iPhone with". o_O If I try to edit, that's what it shows.

I suspect many more have this issue as I do as well, but as it has been mentioned there is no point in saying the same thing again.

I used to work in IT and have been at the receiving end of such fault/problem tickets and the normal response is to add it to the first one and close the new one. Too many of the same thing just increases the noise and obfuscates the ability to prioritise. Priority is usually given to show stoppers over convenience anyway.

But ... if Danny wants the wheel to squeak, that can be arranged.

I just did a short session using my other browser (Opera) and had none of the refresh-type issues.

I normally use Safari v 14.1.2 (14611.3.10.1.7) on an old Mac (MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)) running macOS 10.14.6 (Mojave)

Can those others having the refresh problems detail their hardware/software so that Danny has more information to go on?

    We may be SoL though.

I have noticed some features of other websites do not work in Safari anymore but those features work fine in Opera. Go figure.

    PS:

Ha, I just did this post in Safari and it all worked without any of the refresh problems. What gives?

Going to try clearing the caches and see what happens. I will report back after a few days or a week (or two)

I am not sure why but every time I try to log in to this site, I get the attached error message the only way to log in is to reset my password. Why is this happening every time? I can't seem to find a link for support or help, maybe I am just not looking hard enough.

Are you sure you are using the login option and not the create account option? The error message looks like the error you get when you try to create an account but an account already exists with that email address. PriusChat login screen.png

Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies of all PriusChat-related data?

Have you tried a different browser?

Clearing the Safari cache did nothing for the refresh problem.

Opera, on the other hand, is working like a charm so I guess that will be the browser of choice for PC for the foreseeable.

I don't believe an ad blocker factors into the equation. I tried Safari with and without and there was no change (apart from the visual assault of all the adverts. Opera has a built-in ad-blocking function that makes PriusChat pleasant (in that regard) and I can deal with the occasional ad it lets through.
