Sure wish I could post photos again... Still working on testing work arounds: Here's a test to see if you can post a photo by first uploading to Google photos and then posting the link. The photo is of the kit of the aftermarket LiBCM aftermarket install on Gen 1 Honda Insight. Super excited about this project. First link is of one photo and second link is the whole folder of photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Fn2bYVCyXSJ1PcTn6 https://photos.app.goo.gl/vcs5MKwW4jMYQm897
Lol, I guess we traded in duplicate posting due to server latency for inability to post photos. But on the bright side we can still post Youtube videos:
sylvaing posted up-thread in post #22 that posting the image on Imgur and adding a link to it worked.
Hi guys, here's an update: I've been working in the background since last week trying to squash the bugs from the initial server migration. Then next on my list was the big 2.x software update, but as I was going through the attachment upload bug, it seemed like it was being caused by the old forum software on a new server and the new software that lives on the new machine. So, I had to pivot a couple of days ago to testing the forum software upgrade. So far, attachments are working. I still haven't figured out what's going on with the image cache, but I have a ticket in with the software folks to see if they can figure it out. It's supposed to just rebuild over time. Thank you to everyone who has pointed out that it's more than just a "one off" issue. As part of the move, I upgraded the TLS security level on the our https connection to 1.3 from 1.0. Amazon would no longer send out our emails coming from a server that had a 1.0 level, so it was kind of forced. The bad news is that older browsers are not compatible with 1.3, and if you're EOL on your ability to update your software, you're kind of SOL, it seems. I'm sorry about that and if anyone has any suggested work arounds, let me know.
One other note: If anyone wants to volunteer to jump on the test upgraded site and help me find bugs / things missing / features you need before I finish it up and go live with it, reply to this thread and I'll add you to a special permissions group to access it.
As per my posts above, Youtube videos are now being turned into unlinked photos hours later after posting. So if you want to post a photo, just create a youtube video and then make your the photo you want to post your video's thumbnail.
for example this Youtube link "Angry People vs. Computers Compilation" created a video and I watched the whole thing after I posted it. But come back the next day after the system has processed the video and it's just a photo stripped of text & link. Likely some kind of process that wipes embed codes from the system for security reasons.
The video is there and played okay for me, so I don't think that is it. Your three other YT videos up thread are still there and playable.
Yea, it's back to normal today... If you click refresh on this thread you can see the image I was complaining about load first. Then a half second later the videos load. So I guess that particular glitch I was experiencing: Threads not fully loading on refresh. And to your point: No longer seems to be an issue

Cool pics. You're going through some hoops to post them? Trying to paste an image in clipboard, and/or uploading a jpeg via "upload a file" button, is still broken.
Danny, I've got too much experience with TLS/SSL and various connection types. First and most important: email and web are entirely separate. Don't confuse the two. I don't have time right now, but what you need is to separately analyse the two. Plenty of tools out there. You can allow 1.3 without denying many older protocols. more later
Not sure if it's been mentioned: can't paste text. ^ I just pasted that. What browser are you using, and exactly what happens with pasting text?
What browser are you using ^ just copied/pasted yours too, on an iPhone with safari. exactly what happens with pasting text? ^ and the above I copied/pasted with Google Chrome on a PC, same one that wouldn't paste before. And just to verify in that past instance, I was able to paste in a text editor. So for some reason, it wasn't working, but now it is.
