What is the best OBDII to buy for 05 Prius? My husband has one but there are not any codes showing up. I have the red triangle, check engine light, the light that is the circle with exclamation mark in center and parenthesis on the outside of circle, and the VSC light on.

I need to figure out what to do.

    Thank you.

    Did this just happen recently?
If so then disconnect the positive battery terminal and wait for 5 minutes.

Then reconnect and try and start.
If it starts and lights are off then buckle up and drive it like you stole it to try and charge the hybrid battery.

You might get lucky and save the hybrid pack.

The codes behind the (!) and VSC lights can be blinked on the dash, if you don't have a reader for them. That can save you time while waiting for a reader to arrive. Be sure to read them before you follow any advice to disconnect the battery, or you will not know what the issue was until they come back, could be minutes, could be months.

The check-engine light might not blink any codes (you'll find out while blinking the brake codes), but just about any OBD-II reader should be able to see those. It is quite odd that your husband's can't.

Yes after picking up from shop getting cat fixed.

And by positive, do you mean the 12v battery?

    Thank you for helping
