I will try to post a short video I took recording the noise
It is coming from behind the dash or engine compartment
It is two noises. Both start and end together. They come and go every 14 seconds like clockwork. They last about 3 seconds
One part is a buzzy type noise and second is a knocking sound

Sounds almost like a water pump that is trying to keep pressure in a system/line

    Any idea what that is?

    I'll try to attach video

A repetitive buzzing type sound is usually the brake pump (actuator) going bad on the Gen 2 which is the forum you're posting in. I mention the latter since you don't state what vehicle this is happening to.

    Wait
It goes away when foot goes on the brake

Must be the complicated hydraulic system keeping pressure

call your dealer and give them the vin number , ask about an extended warrantee on the brake actuator .... Toyota is replacing a lot of them.. don't disconnect the battery if theres an error code they will have to see it when they scan the car. good luck, the repair cost is about $2700

you need tech stream for some prius codes, but if you didn't get any dash lights, there might not be one.

do you get the buzzing sound when you open the drivers door?

And it isn't related to door being open

I mother-in-law had a 2006 hybrid Camry that the actuator went out on she took it into the dealer that she bought it from and they gave her a really hard time. It took months to get them to agree to do it and she still had to pay labor
I am calling dealership now and will update on here in a bit

    Ok
So apparently there is an extended warranty dealer through Toyota for the accumulator until dec 31 2017

So I set an appointment for tomorrow at 215 to drop it off

They will see if that is what it is and then supposedly replace for no charge

    I'll update tomorrow

    I'm at the dealer now
They are getting ready to check it for codes
If no codes found then they will not warranty it

    Keeping fingers crossed

Technician heard how it tries to build pressure every 13 seconds and said that isn't normal and said it wa the accumulator

But again...no codes then no help

I'll post back in a few

look up the regional Toyota customer service managers number and name for your part of the country, they might authorize the repair, if not you can call the nation wide customer service center and tell them what the tech said..

Would have been more than that! 2700 for part alone!

Send me your address and I'll have dominoes deliver...what do you like in it?
