oil change duration for a 2016 (U.S.) Prius?

    Toyota recommends a service visit every 5,000 miles. That's how the in-car reminder is set up. That doesn't mean Toyota recommends an oil change every 5,000 miles. There are conditions where the oil can go 10,000 miles.

    Toyota Canada, for 3rd gen, set the regular oil change interval at 8000 kms (5000 miles approx) or six months, whichever comes first.

    For 4th gen they’re in sync with Toyota USA. :rolleyes:

    I do between 8-10k miles, mostly 10k miles or more with PP 0W 20 or M1 0W 20. I have 120k miles on the prius. Did the same with my Accord which I donated at 350k miles. I think 5k intervals are overrated and do more harm to the environment.
