I currently use 5w20...have been considering 0w20, but I have never seen it. It has been recommended to me several times, but have been unable to find it. What is your source?

BTW, I am not sure if his comment concerned synthetics, I will have to ask him again next time we meet. I am quite sure it was for motor oil though. I am anxious to see what you find!!!

I got the case of Pennzoil here:

    http://oilstore.stores.yahoo.net/peplforhy0wc.html

IIRC the original post on this source was in greenhybrid. The price appears low but their shipping charge compensates. Six qts totalled nearly $40.

Pennzoil uses 'open-code dating', so I can see that they were bottled 11 Dec 2007. Not all mfrs. are so forthcoming...

What about the weight, this 0W20 is not the recommend weight Toyota calls for.

I and others have used 0W20 synthetics in Prius without ill effects. Used oil analyses have been posted at Priuschat. One might say that with summer coming on is not the ideal time to drop viscosity, but Tochatihu has always been an experimental subject.

If anything untoward happens I will be sure to post it. A gain of 1 or 2 mpg is actually the most likely outcome. :D
