I know that Toyota has increased the oil change interval to 10,000 miles but my Toyota dealer sates that I have to bring it in every 5000 miles. I do not do much driving and am lucky to get even 3000 miles in 6 months. Can I wait until I actually get 10,000 miles before I have to have the oil changed?

It's actually changed out at 10,000 miles or at the 1 year mark. So just bring it in at a year and they'll change it out. That's what it says in the manual

The 5,000 mile interval is for tire rotation.

And if your miles are very low even tire rotations become pointless at 6 mo interval. I'd discuss with them.

The warranty talks of miles OR months i.e. 6 months or 5,000 miles.

Yes, it's miles or months, whichever comes first. But once mileage gets low enough, the logic starts to fall apart. With oil change, yeah, because oil sitting in an engine accumulates moisture and so on.

But for the US schedule the 6 month interval is tire rotation and visual inspection of brakes. Both of those become pointless with really low miles.

There's also some really silly stuff: fluid levels, drivers floor mat installation.

Tire rotation, balance and alignment "check"...4,000-5,000 miles normal use. If you are prone to pot holes, curbs and such...then as required.
