    Big Oil is a lot more than just selling crude oil for a single month. The sell for all months, and work all the rest of the supply chain too.

    Note also that crude went negative for only May deliveries. May comes next week. None of the other 37 months on this futures chart went negative (showing today's closing prices, not yesterday when it went severely negative), and a single bad line doesn't equivalently drag down the whole company:
