For Fram, the 4967 the regular size, 4386 and 3600 are taller. XG is for the better inside filters.

As you can see from my photos, yes, there is plenty of room for a taller filter.

    @Mendel Leisk

mind to tell where you got it from?
was it such a good price that it made sense to get it from the UAE ?

Try amayama.com. They're the ones I know that have a warehouse in UAE. Compared with local pricing I found I could get things cheaper, especially if it was a part not available through local Toyota dealers like the iQ disc brake axle. I saved hundreds even after $200+ shipping.

The conversion-to-spin-on order was through Amayama. With the three orders I've done, the sources have been either Japan or UAE. When you request an item, they show multiple sources, prices and shipping charges. If prices are close, I find it's best to opt to get all items from one country, then you have just one shipping charge. And throw multiple items in, and the shipping often doesn't change, or only slightly.

IIRC the shipping charge did not change when I added the wiper blades (both fronts, inserts). Everything in this order was through UAE. The last three (cryptic) items are the spin-on conversion pieces:

Again, no sales tax or duty was added.

Except for the erroneously low price at McGeorge for brake calipers, Japanese items are cheap in Japan. (I keep kicking myself for not trying harder to pick up a set of Volk Racing Wheels and take them on the airplane with us when we went last summer)...

No import tax for me either. It's when they are for more than one car that the taxes start. I think they do that for items destined for commerce/resale.

Yeah basically $60 CDN for the spin-on conversion, that's around $45 US. Plus shipping around $36 CDN, that's around $27 US.

Out of curiosity I searched to see what that filter housing would cost from a US supplier and found parts.toyota.com telling me that the part# you bought is no longer available and has been replaced by 156090T070

Yeah it drove me nuts trying to determine compatible spin-on style oil filter bracket part numbers. I was half convinced AFTER I'd placed my order that I'd screwed up, got the old style.

LInk to post #24 is my "moment of doubt", post #25 I find confirmation from @Elektroingenieur 's earlier posting, that all is ok, and post #26 I come to the same part number you mention.

As far as I know: 15609-37060 = 156090T070. And there's maybe some more in the pack, also identical, but my brain is full.

Yeah. I just checked now: the new part number draws a blank, the old, there's still 3 in UAE, and ">1" in Japan. UAE is the better deal, for me at least.

The "older" spin-on style, that IS available on Amayam, part number is:

    15609-37060

    My notes, what I ordered:

(1)-15609-37060 (Oil Filter Bracket Assembly - Newer Revision)
    (2)-96723-24020 (O-Ring)
    (1)-90904-04006 (Union, for Oil Filter)

The diff was hiding in plain sight at first, then I noticed:

    upload_2020-1-11_20-25-52.png
    upload_2020-1-11_20-26-11.png
    And looking at this:
    upload_2020-1-11_20-28-20.png
I get the sense that extra "tear drop" on mine is pointing straight down, like this:
    upload_2020-1-11_20-33-28.png
    Maybe a drip point?

If I google "15609-37060 vs 15609-0T070", I see indication that the first was superseded by the second. That says to me that they both work.
