New to the forum; 1st post; 2011 with 140k.Thanks to all the contributors! I just got started on plugs, pcv valve, manifold and egr cleaning, and oil catch can install job. I discovered oil leak near the rear of the motor on pass. side. Any diagnosis help or advice would be much appreciated! Fingers crossed its something simple like an oil pressure sensor...

    Thanks!,

    Ted

That is where the oil pressure switch is. Others have had this problem. Simple and inexpensive to switch.
You can gunk it, rinse, let it dry, then drive it.
If you can use your phone to video that area, you'll probably see it leaking..

Thanks! Anyone have a shot of the FSM page with the oil pressure switch in it?

looks like leaking from timing chain tensioner.

Might be the infamous timing chain cover gasket.

    MANY posts about that.
In a fair and just world, Toyota would have fessed up and done a TSB and warranty coverage for this.....

Unfortunately, the world is neither fair nor just so you will have to deal with it.
    Me?

I’d clean the affected area and monitor.
Your car’s age plus the cost to repair will provide all the incentive you need.

    YMMV......

You should gunk it down, rinse it off, then drive and check it closely.
It may not be the timing cover gasket, it could be the oil pressure switch.
That's why you really need to clean it of good, and then check often.
