Is there a torque spec on the oil plug?
Is there a torque setting for the filter or is snug good enough?

There’s 2, one for the engine by the radiator which is 9 ft. Lbs, and one for the inverter side which is under the inverter which is 29 ft lbs.

The 9 ft. Lb is a plastic plug. The 29 ft. Lb is the metel bolt.

Yeah, the answer was there "Cock Plug"
    Thanks for the clarification though.

I am at 70K so long time to replace the coolant but I am going to do my first oil, spark plugs and trans fluid change. I am shocked by the incompetence of the local garages. I tried Toyota dealerships and independent garages. Here in London, there is a shortage of Nuts about Bolts and Chris Fix'es!

Thank you for the work you have done to spread the knowledge. (y)

    PS
Is this oil wrench still best and recommended for 2013 1.8L engine?

    Thanks.

A similar style eBay $9.95USD filter wrench will work for for your Auris, for half the price. That's what I've got and works flawlessly, on both my Prius and Sienna.

I'm using the standard Honda automotive oil filter socket, simple, heavy gauge. Just fits the 14 flute pattern at the top, no tricky sidewall with slots. Works on our Prius, and a Honda Pilot and Mazda CX-5 as well.

Attached is 3rd gen Prius oil change info:

Just say the word, I'll send the link to full book lol.

I used to buy paper manuals for our Hondas, have 3~4 of them kicking around. Quality has gone down, sadly.

    This way is more fun......:)

If I ever buy a Prius, I'll pony up for an OEM manual.

I use a thicket one that uses a 64mm socket as an attachment in the back. The 3/8 attachment is a luxury lol.

The linked socket is aluminum, probably cast. I suspect you'd be buying another before long. Also, an odd selling point, saying it "only" works with the Prius:

    upload_2019-3-1_8-0-37.png

The heavy-gauge stamped steel Honda oil filter socket I'm using I picked up in the early '90's, for a Honda motorcycle. At the time their automotive oil filters were larger diameter; I had a separate socket for that purpose. Honda later went to the motorcycle sized filter (64mm face-to-face, 14 flute) for automotive, so that worked out for me. Again: Toyota, Honda Mazda, are all using this size. Maybe more.

Any Honda dealership would be able to order that socket in for you. Very easy to find online too, there's only one kind, just google Honda automotive oil filter socket. Here's the appearance:

    upload_2019-3-1_9-41-50.png

If I'm not mistaken Toyota has a similar socket? Again, heavy gauge stamped steel, no extra-long collar with special slots to fit around stiffeners.

From the Toyota Repair Manual excerpt I posted above:

    upload_2019-3-1_8-10-23.png

Search for that part number; it looks like a plain-Jane socket. Here's one link:

Buy Toyota Oil Filter Wrench 64mm/14 flute (09228-06501) online | eBay

(I suspect the above is not the Toyota part, they just threw in the part number as a reference.)

Direct Toyota link, looks more like the Repair Manual pic:

    https://toyota.service-solutions.com/en-US/Pages/ItemDetail.aspx?SKU=09228-06501

    Addendum:

Maybe cus I'm a lightweight, but I like to use a long handle wrench when removing the oil filter, say 18" handle. Makes removal an easy process, as long as someone hasn't installed it with an impact driver, used the proper torque spec (see attachment above). Good for breaking loose the transaxle drain/fill bolts too.

What a shame I didn't ask here before buying.
I paid 19 bucks for a cast aluminium: Oil Filter Socket 64.5mm 14 Flats with 6 Slots for Toyota 29130 OFS-64-5MM14F6S | Draper Tools

and still, I don't know if it fits!

I see the point now of having universal, 64 mm socket wrench without fancy flange that only restricts usability.
BTW. Is it 64, 64.5 or 65 mm? lots of misinformation on eBay and Amazon...

I am going to find 64 mm 14 flute only, no slots made out of steel. Will check Honda.
The aluminium one I ordered did not arrive yet so I will try to cancel it.
    Oil coming on Thursday.

    Thanks a lot!

My Honda socket, measured as best I can with and inside dial caliper, measures 64.5 mm. I would speculate the filters (haven't got one on hand) are around 64.0 mm.

I think this is the current Honda part no, just googling: 07AAA-PLCA100

If you phone a Honda dealership and just tell them you want the oil filter socket (they all seem to call it a "wrench", which seems a misnomer), that should be sufficient description: as far as I know all Honda vehicles use the same oil filter size. I do know that's the case for Civic, Accord and Pilot. It's also the size for our son's new Mazda CX-5. And of course Prius. And likely most of the Toyota vehicle lineup?

Some pics. The larger socket with cut out is the size Honda used to use. I've not nothing to use it on now, but it's a keepsake. The cutout was handy, for prying off the socket, since it can get a little stuck-on. Again, the smaller socket used to be their motorcycle size, now it's cross-the-board. The part number embossed is out of date.

    Do you think that's it?

Genuine Honda, made in USA. NICEE but they claim 65 mm?
    Pricy too.

I also found this motorbike tool:

The seller said it is made of steel. Available in the UK for around $13

That first link certainly looks like the real McCoy.

Any aversion to just buying from a local Honda dealership? Maybe a few bucks more, but you know for sure they're not counterfeit.

Bought a $4.99 Toyota oil filter wrench from China back while ago. No slips, still works, great pinging sound when testing rigidity.

Who needs oil plug torque value, just tighten TIL you see the crush washer start bend outward then your tight enough.

I've done some more research just to confirm my suspicions.
Buying Honda oil filter wrench 07AAA-PLCA100 in the UK is more expensive than importing from the USA!
    Details:
Honda 07AAA-PLCA100 - Two dealerships checked both said that it will be around £45 I didn't even ask if the tax is included (I bet it wasn't) as the status were NOT IN STOCK with the delivery estimate of 6 weeks.
    Amazon.com:
$31 bucks, delivered to the UK with import duties: £33!
I checked also two Toyota part departments:
    09228-06501 - not listed
    09228-06502 - £27
I would go for Honda as it seems to be a better tool but still not 100% sure if the 07AAA-PLCA100 with 65 mm wouldn't slip. I saw that tools designed particularly for Toyota 1.8 engine were listed as 64.5 mm
There is a cheaper steel option I am also considering: OIL FILTER CUP WRENCH (64mm-14F) - BikeService
Bikeservice BS6661. Rated up to 85 ft/1bs. of torque
It's for a bike but seems to be same 14 flute/64 mm design

I read about wrenches being too small to put in or too large and slip eventually.
I will defo measure the cap when I remove it but for now, I am not 100% sure what's the perfect fit.
