Oil Pressure Light

    The oil pump is mechanical driven by the camshaft. Any time the ICE is spinning the oil pump is pumping.

    i think everyone knows the ice has to be lubricated, even when it's not running. let's not pretend toyota has come up with a system that operates outside of the phisical world.

    i don't know.:)

    Is there an accumulator/pre-oiler? Might be desirable due to all the start-stop cycles.

    M/G1 gets the engine over 1000 RPM before the ignition becomes live, so there is oil before there is load.

    For quite a while now, improved manufacturing tolerances have made the need for any pre-oiler unnecessary, the oil pressure is almost instant as the engine starts to turn so when the ICE is turning it has oil pressure.
    Meanwhile back at the ranch...................
