The Prius is SUCH a dangerous car when you're going 75mph downhill on an inch of black ice with bald stock tires, why would ANYONE buy one? I think I might sell mine just because of this problem. Plus, I'm only getting 47mpg this winter, and I heard you're supposed to get 50.

Betcha some people still miss the good old days, where the bulk & weight of a vehicle provided the illusion of safety.

Remember when you had to pump the brakes and prevent overspin yourself? :eyebrows:

And don't forget, if you slam on the brakes while speeding down hill, on black ice, this car will actually accelerate unintentionally and cause YOU to have an accident.

Slamming on the brakes can cause a premature failure of the HV battery due to overcharging, with replacement costs running as high as $6000!

I find if you drive a Prius after drinking a bottle of gin, the car swerves all over the road!

And never ever drive over a cliff in a Prius...that was emphasized by Toyota in their last recall.

It's not just Toyota or the Prius either.

I bought a Ferrari the other day and the car is obviously defective. I only manage 5 mpg and when I try to tow my horse trailer across a field with it, it keeps getting stuck and bottoming out.

    They should ban them all.

There's something wrong with mine...the engine keeps switching off every time I take my foot off the gas!...I hear it's a common fault, why hasn't Toyota put out a recall on this?

I totally agree with you. I will never buy another Gen II Prius. The car goes when I step on the gas pedal and I can even open the doors without a key. That being said I might buy the Prius V but like I said never a Gen II. :)

The car is not only dangerous, it just plain sucks. It will do nothing to power me through the blizzard that's coming.

My windshield was completely iced over this morning, so I turned the defroster on and it got really HOT! I'm afraid to even drive it to the dealer.
