    One year driving with my Prius 2007 plug-in that have 9kWh A123 cells (20Ah) and bms+, 20kWh total for long trips with removables LG cells, and only 10 liters (2,64 gallons) used during 14300 km (8880 miles) plus1542 kWh from the plug. This gasoline have been used in summer, for few long trips and montly just a short time.

    The longest trip without gas was 380 km (236 miles), just 3 intermediary battery charge, in one day.

    For example, one odb picture:

    Note that 0,0 L/100km is between 0.00 and 0.05.

    So, with a full tank (our tank don't have a blader), it would have been possible to drive during 5 to 6 years :whistle:

    Very good planetair. How expensive you electric is? Whats your $$ recharge calculation cost is?

    In one year my car used 1542 kWh during 14300km.

    I pay each kWh near 0.11 € / kWh so 170€ / year.
    If I had used only gasoline, I would have probably used 3,5 L/100km (67 mpg us) (because aero and tires improvements); => 700 € /year
    This is 4 times more expensive per km or mile.
    Usually the prius average consomption is 5.2 L/100km => 1000€ /Year

    So all the improvements (aero, tires, plugin) have reduced the energy cost from 1000 € to 170 € /year =>830€ less (937$)

    Sometimes recharging was free. Something like 300 kWh were free (33€). But I used also 10 liters.=> 14€

    Hi Planetaire,
    How often do you turn gas engine on to lubricate transaxle? I do it once in 100km on average. Prius plug in do it automaticaly every 200km. Best regards.

    I use engine at least once a month, say 1000-1200km.
    It is not for lubricating the transaxle, it is for the engine.
    The transaxle have is own oil. MG2, PSD and MG1 are oiled when driving, in oog mode, in ev mode...
    In all modes, the engine oil pump move only engine oil, not the transaxle oil.

    There also is small oil pump in the transaxle. It is connected to engine. But since power is only transmitted thought planetary gears when engine is turning transaxle is probably fine with it not turning for a long time while driving in EV-mode.
