Orangle Triangle with "Check Hybrid System"

    My son got the orange triangle with "Check Hybrid System" message so he didn't drive it. I check for codes on my obd reader and didn't get any codes. I started the engine and put it in reverse and the warning cleared. I drove it about 1 mile up 55 mph and ran fine. He got the warning again today when he started it and he thought the it sounded rough when he turned it off. Is there anything I can look for? I downloaded the toyota app on my phone. I don't know if it will help on a 2010 Prius II.
