    THANKS!

I see the 110 VAC outlet next to the 12 VDC 'cigarette' lighter socket.

Are you sure it's a power outlet? For me it looks like an USB port and/or an auxiliary audio input. Have current prius a 110 VAC outlet?

Could it be as simple as an on-off switch for the 12V power port right next to it?

If it were 120V outlet, I'd expect to see it in a horizontal configuration...
better for positioning the little transformer blocks for recharging PDAs etc.

A small point: back when we were discussing the possible aerodynamic
improvements, I noted that at one point one of the BMC tosses a boomerang
over his shoulder, apparently in a gesture of dismisal... and that was the end
    of it.

The large fan/confetti sequence is interesting. The confetti doesn't blow
smoothly over the car. Instead it gets stuck on one of the BMC... not a very
effective demonstration. So why is it even shown? And then, at 2:58,
the boomerang does finally return... Bonk!.. the long anticiptaed dope slap.

I would hazard a guess that the message is, "The aerodynamic thing, you still
    don't get it, do you?"

in newer toyotas, audio plug is indeed positioned next to the 12V plug, so you can charge it at the same time if needed...

Upon closer inspection, it is a rocker switch of some sort ... darn it. It has the same shape as that earlier rocker switch teaser with the text "OPEN."

Unfortunately, it's only Warp 1. During development, Toyota's code named the 2010 Prius "NX-0001". After the plug-in conversion, I'm waiting for the Hover Conversion to come out! :D

audio input switch is usually covered with plastic cover that you "snap" off :)... so things wont get stuck inside of it...

I just noticed Jalopnik: Obsessed With The Cult Of Cars has discovered the Prius teasers including the Blue Man commercial. Many of their reader comments remain underwhelming but I just noticed the shifter has:

    • "R" - the position used in the commercial
    • "D" - self evident
    • "N" - expected
    • "E" - hummmmmm, level with "N"
I don't see "B" and don't miss it one bit.

"E" Mode... perhaps "Energy recovery" mode? It would work the same as B, without the confusion factor of "why B?"

Personally, I use B mode for long downhills in road conditions where hitting the brakes may be a bad idea, like on snow, ice, heavy rains. Yes, I may lose a little mpg overall, but I gain peace of mind.

What are you talking about Bob? This is the shifter on the new 2010, I can see the B and can see no E anywhere... maybe the arrows got you confused???

    Thanks!

I was going by the driving display from the Blue Man commercial. I didn't see "B" on the instrument display.

Maybe I am pushing it too far, but isn't a HUD reflection in the windshield seen in this spy shot?

Interesting. I looks like something is there. It could well be from the background. It may be registration sticker. I hope it is a HUD projection although the color should be blue/green.
