Ok should probably have taken a photo, but anyway, after a short 20 minute trip the prius consumption screen had 4 bars all at 100, which I thought was pretty good going.
battery started out with 3 bars and ended on 4 bars
it was only a 3 mile round trip with me sitting in the car while my wife popped into a couple of shops to get groceries.
no idea how I achieved it though :)

A true 100 MPG starting out with a cold engine, going only 3 miles, and
making a number of stops along the way would be a wonderful thing
    indeed.

Truth be told, the bars on the consumption screen don't even come close
to telling the whole story. The "MPG" display on the consumption screen
is time based, not mileage based.

As true an MPG reading as you can get is the numeric display below the
"graph." Folks who also do a miles run/gallons purchased hand
calculation say that it is typically 5-10% high.

At any rate, it sounds like you're doing fine and having fun too.

While I do think the numbers are pretty cool you must realize that some of the energy used on your short trip will need to be paid back because it was borrowed from the battery. :)

I started with 3 bars and ended with 4 bars so actually gave the battery back some :)

however I expect it was possibly some kind of fluke, I'd been on a shortish drive an hour earlier, and it was quite a warm day.. still I was quite chuffed seeing 4 100mpg bars in a row :)
