I have a CAT shield on my 2005. Engine light on. Auto store told me it’s 02 Sensor going bad. Will CAT shield have to be removed to replace Sensor. Could any Auto Repair shop be able to do that? I live where no DEQ inspections are required. Small rural town with 2 Auto Repair Shops. Haven’t asked around yet.

Please post the OBD2 code(s) that they found.
O2 sensors don't last forever, how many miles are on the current sensors or when were they last replaced?

Never worked around a cat shield, but would assume that it needs removal to access either the upstream or downstream sensor.

You or they will use a pry bar to pop the rivets and unscrew the bolts to remove shield to deal with O2 sensor... It doesn't take much effort if your pry bar is long enough.

Getting up there, so quite possible. What were the OBD2 codes?
