    Hello All!

So, I've had the CEL on for more than a year, broke down and got a scanner and got P0455 and P0441 codes. Of course, I thought, must be the gas cap. Headed to Toyota and they happily sold me a new one. Expensive, I remember paying $30-40 for it. CEL stayed on, fast forward several months, I decided to look around and found out that it could be one of three issues, 1), Gas cap 2), Purge valve solenoid, 3) leaking Charcoal canister by the tank. I tried the first and that wasn't it. I found out the canister more than likely isn't the culprit and it rarely goes bad. This car has never been "topped off" as far as I know. Second, the purge valve seems to be more of a frequent failure on our cars, so I went ahead and got one from my Toyota dealer.

Thing is: I picked the solenoid Purge Valve up, put it in my garage and came back to it a couple months later. I've seen videos on how to test them and that by blowing into one of the holes, NO air should escape out the other hole. On this new one, it does, just a little. From what I understand, no air should come out. Did I get a defective one? Anyone with experience on this? Any help would be appreciated.

I'll report on any findings, I plan on tackling this today. It doesn't seem like a super tough job.
