Second time the code popped up and noticed it does it only in the rain and 5 seconds after hydroplaning over a deep puddle.

Im not replacing the ECM it’s only got 40k miles, so I read it’s most definitely the O2 sensor (bank 1, sensor 2) 99 percent of the time when that code appears and only that code, is that correct?

got a quote for $119 O2 sensor by walker, going to get that next month unless someone explains what else it could be.

Could it be water getting in the downstream O2 sensor after hydroplaning or is the water causing electrical issues for the ECM?

The code and check engine light clears after manually clearing it with a scangauge2 and doesn’t come back, only hydroplaned once that night. The first time the code appeared it was raining as well, cleared the code and light without reappearing until tonight’s rainy drive.

    Bump

figured it out, went for an oil change and they said my post cat 02 sensor wiring was chewed out, think they taped it up because it’s rained a couple more times and hydroplaned with no code popping up this time.

You ARE going to repair the wires correctly, right?
    Or replace the sensor?

so the code came back but it was raining for 36 hours in the middle of winter here in MN but went away when I cleared it on the highway, assuming all the wind from going 65 miles per hour under my car pushed the water off the wire.

So yes will be having it looked at by a locally trusted car shop near by to see what the best route of repair is, haven’t looked under there myself To see if it can actually be tapped up properly just assumed the oil change place did.

I haven’t looked under there myself to see how the wiring is set up but just from imagining how the wiring is set up I cannot see why a rodent would chew it up, I really hope not.
