Hi all, my 2012 Prius c got error code P0A80 Replace Hybrid Battery Pack. It still runs fine. I cleaned the fan and cleared the error code and the code came back. I assumed I needed to replace the hybrid battery pack so I bought one from the junk yard that had only 80k miles on it. The Prius is running fine with it but no matter how many times I clear the P0A80 code it keeps coming up after about 200 miles.

The one from the junk yard might not be in perfect condition.

^ and there may be more data in the car. Maybe get it to somebody who can look for sub-codes with Techstream?

How old was the junkyard battery? You usually want the youngest one you can find, ignore miles.

The hybrid battery was from a 2012. I don't know anyone with techstream so I might look into getting techstream myself

You can also purchase a Carista
Enjoy tweaking things on your prius!
Then download the Dr. Prius APP
Learn how to use the app and understand it

Once you learn what condition your battery is in
There may be a chance its good enough that the code will just delete on its own, so just drive it.

Down the road if you have issues with the battery again you can have fun learning more about the battery and take it apart yourself or pay someone else to do it all or go back learning about the battery and how to safely take it apart and order one of the Lithium batteries from Dr. Prius at ProjectLithium.com then install that yourself and enjoy!

    Use code 7373

Hate to say it but I think you moved sideways instead of up with that recycled battery.

Techstream is great because it's the OG Toyota app, you'll get all the same detail the dealer gets. The downside is that you have to run it on an old windows laptop.
