signals a small power imbalance was sensed

    diagnostic steps say:
    1) check the battery current sensor
    >> heres my question: where is it located on a Gen 2, so i can test it?

    2) if bad, replace
    3) if good - test MG2 for nearly exactly 35 milliohm resistance on each winding leg - if bad, windings are shorted & replace MG2 or whole transaxle

Huzzah- its in the traction. battery. a field coil around the hot wire to the inverter.

So im wondering: see the test diagram i posted - why is the resistance different depending on the orientation of the leads on the DVM- neg/po vs pos/neg ...im assuming its a DVM, set to ohms...)
    ?

There is a diode in the circuit? You might be checking that also. That’s a lot of work to test that piece. Is checking the windings any easier? If so you might want to check those first.

DVM should be set to kilo-ohms.

What kind of readings do you currently have?

Lol - well, its about 29 degrees out, and altho ive never opened up my traction battery, i may wanna hold off till iim back from florida and can get it in the garage and run the damn propane heater!
...On the other hand, does the wire harness that connects to the sensors coil exit the batt pack and go to a more accessible point where it can be tested - maybe it plugs into a computer up front or something easier to test (assuming the problem isnt in its wire harness!)

Curious how often you changed out the transmission fluid, and if you used the Toyota WS or something else ?
