    2008 Prius 2 with175000 mi.
New TB, clean electric contacts. Ran well for a few months (100 mi a week day).
Recent cold in Iowa, required 12v replacement.
Now the triangle (sorry don't recall its name) is back along with the P2103 code.
Is the ecm the next step?

P2103 points to Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit High.
Not necessarily. The repair manual indicates it as the last area after checking the following trouble areas:
    • Short in throttle control motor circuit
    • Throttle control motor
    • Throttle valve
    • Throttle body assembly
    • ECM
Here is the full work up: Work up for P2102/P2103

    Hope that helps.

Went out, disconnected the battery. Restarted the car. Idled fine. Moved the car, lights (bad ones) came on. New code p2102. Motor circuit low. Paper suggests getting p2102 and p2103 codes suggest ecm. Codes not together back to back. Disconnected battery between.
Also I ran the tests in the paper last year when i had this problem before. I never had a p2102 before.

Never saw the red car icon before. I'll keep learning tomorrow.
I have not found the "throttle body" ecm location yet.
    Thanks

I don't see anywhere where it suggests that. What I see in common with those two codes is the throttle control motor. You said you replaced the throttle body (TB), was it a new one or a second-hand one from a breaker? If it was not new, it is possible you installed a TB which now has a faulty throttle control motor?
As I read it, you have changed the TB since you ran those test, so those tests are irrelevant. You need to test this TB. If you find that the throttle control motor is faulty, I believe you have to replace the TB as you can't just replace the motor.
The throttle body is controlled by the engine control module (ECM), also sometimes known as the engine ECU (electronic control unit). The TB does not have a separate ECU.

Sorry, been a little frustrating today. I recognize there is one engine ecu. Where is it physically located?
Got the torque pro app. Now I'm getting lights with no codes. Torsion battery is good. Have new obd2 plug and software on order.
Thanks for your help. Once I find the ecu I'll recheck as suggested in the document.

    See the attached diagram.
I think you need to make sure you have installed or activated the Prius specific extended PIDs. I don't use Torque Pro myself, but one of the others here who do should be able to walk you through that.

Here is the diagram that shows the various ECU locations:
