I just bought a prius 07 with 150kmiles a code popped up and said the pump on water storage tank was bad so i replaced it but still does not turn on when i start or stop the car. So i Replaced the rely still nothing so i jumped the rely that worked. Is my ecu bad that controlls the rely? Or is there a sensor not making it work? I really need the help thank you for your time.

    excellent info ...
being in a hot climate .. addressing the P2601 does neglibale for MPG improvement. .. however when it gets into the 30's ... then you feel what the North feels .. 'when is this damn thing gonna heat up so i can turn the heater on' ....
my pump connections appear intact .. it has been along time since i heard the 'whine' of the pump motor when car shuts off ... and in the 7 seconds when it starts up ...

Are you thinking you might try the workup steps SFO posted?

If you put the results here, maybe using the same step numbers as in the posted workup to make things easy for those of us following along at home, it shouldn't be too hard to find the cause.
