P3190 Poor Engine Power post Intake Manifold cleanup

    decided to clean up the intake manifold, throttle body, and egr pipe. replaced gaskets, put everything back together and am now getting a P3190 code. car will run for about 10 second, idle rough, then shut down. any ideas?

    "run for about 10 second, idle rough, then shut down" in a Prius is pretty much what "won't start" sounds like.

    Cranking in a Prius sounds like running, because MG1 cranks the engine at running speed, instead of wheezing around at 200 rpm like other cars' starters. Then after around 10 seconds, the car says "all right, engine, I'm not cranking you forever, last chance to make your own darned power", and the engine then sputters some, and doesn't.

    It's quite common for people to work on the intake manifold and end up leaving one of the hose connections off, creating an unmetered air intake leak that'll do this.

    it was a hose connection to the throttle body. ‍
