Pair iPhone 5 in Prius without the navigation system?

    I recently purchased a used 2011 prius that does not contain the navigation system. The car is blue-tooth equipped, but there is no information in the manual on how to pair a phone with the car without the navigation system. It keeps telling me to use the buttons on the steering wheel that aren't there.

    Am I missing something?

    Maybe the car isn't Bluetooth-equipped and the manual only gives those instructions with a pair of parentheses saying something like "if available". Usually those user manuals are used throughout the entire lineup of Prius so a Prius without those features will still get that manual.

    Can you post up a picture of your car's dash and steering wheel?

    That microphone leads me to believe it's an aftermarket Bluetooth. Maybe that's why you can't find that in the manual. If you can find the model of that particular item, then finding out how to pair would be easy... but finding out who makes it is the hard part.

    If you don't want to bother with that, you can get one of these:

    Search "GOgroove FlexSMART X2" on Amazon.

    I know someone who owns one and it's not just for the phone calls but streams music from the phone, too.

    Looks like you have an AUX input....I would use this bluetooth solution.
