Was mentioned in other threads. They are just waiting on the parts to arrive.
No word on whether the Prime has the issue. Likely does, but will be fixed before shipping the cars.

I hate to pile-on, but Yahoo news has an article and pictures showing a new Toyota truck's tendency to roll-over during accident avoidance maneuvers. The pictures shows the truck up on two wheels, and the caption said only the corrective actions of the expert driver was able to prevent it from rolling over.

Yes, but if he was performing an emergency avoidance manoeuvre when this happened, perhaps he escaped an even worse calamity. This was not just rolling over in regular driving, was it?

it would have to be an objective study of all trucks anti rollover capabilities to be meaningful.

I think we are driving too fast . Here in Miami the speed limit is 55 mph . Last week I was driving 98 mph . People are away trying to cut me off. They want to see if the pip can speed up!!! We can't blame the cars for what idiots are driving too fast everyday. Even at 98 mph I had a guy on a Corolla that was going a lot faster than me.

Dealers should have parts in. I have an appointment scheduled to perform the recall for Wednesday. This is at a dealer in Houston, TX.

Recall was reported 12 October 2016.
    Today is 01 November 2016
Any updates about clips arriving at dealership Service Departments.

If so, is there a delivery pattern. Meaning West coast, Central, East Coast??

Just noticed: Houston comment above - That's good. Fort Worth is a short 7 hour drive North.

    Thanks in advanced.

    I bought a 2017 Prius Two a week ago.
Not all 2017 vehicles are affected by the recall.
Mine arrived at the dealer ready to purchase.

I called the dealer today about the parking brake recall. I was told that the clips were "serialized" by VIN. And even though they had some in stock for their new vehicles, mine had to be ordered. Said that should be in less than a week.

I would expect new vehicles to get priority due to the stop sale order on them.

Not sure the Toyota attorneys would approve of that.

Making just reasonable (rather than Herculean) efforts to fix cars on the road is one thing. Delaying thier repair soToyota can get new cars off thier lots first is another matter all together.

Several contributors have said you'd need to be pretty much brain-dead to leave the car in drive, with just parking brake on.

I'm in that camp I guess. I've just about done it, at least twice. Especially in bright daylight, when the dash lights are not that obvious, with radio off. Doubly so if you've sat a moment or two, got distracted.

True only in some countries such as U.S. about the Gen2. In Europe, Gen2 rear brakes are discs (rotors. In U.S. speak)

I always use the parking brake and I agree it's better on the pawl and provides redundancy. If it wasn't needed why it's it fitted? What does the manual day about using it?

I always use the parking brake too, but the other day a thread here got me thinking: what happens if you get towed? They lift the front end, but I'm pretty sure they don't break into the car and release the parking brake. Even if they're really responsible and try to look in, the truck-style pedal is not readily visible or gonna give any clues.

Great ,In Miami Florida we get everything last. I don't use the parking brake at all. If I receive the notice then I will get the fix.

It's worth noting, however, that there's this, on page 415, regarding winter driving:

Yet another use for wheel chocks. Good to have if you're changing a flat, rasing one corner: manual actual says to chock the diagonally opposite corner. Good idea.
