On my old '07 Gen 2 I was able to walk up to the passenger side door, or simply place my hand on the rear hatch latch and the car would unlock when I had the key in my pocket. Is that an option that can be set on my new Gen 4 Two? I find it inconvenient (after being spoiled by the Gen 2) that I now have to actually hit the unlock button twice on my fob to unlock those entry points.

I am reading 2018 specs, the Prius One and Two only have driver side Smart Key.

Two Eco and up have the 3 door Smart key. Sorry. (I missed it from my Gen 2 as well)

On my gen 4 Prius four, if I hold the front passenger handle, all locks open. If I press the button on the trunk handle, all doors unlock. I think that is the default setting.

Yeah, that's what my old 'plain jane' Gen 2 did. How they made the decision to make that an option only available on "higher" trim lines is beyond me.

It was only on a higher trim level on my Gen2 as well.

same way on gen 3, you had to buy higher package for 3 door sks.

Thanks! I stand corrected... I thought I had a "plain jane" Gen 2. Certainly didn't have many bells and whistles other than cruise and power windows, which seem standard on most base models. I didn't have GPS, or blue tooth. Anyway, it seems I'm out of luck on this new 2017 and a half Two. Love the car despite this!

I miss this feature as well on my 17 Two. My last car was a Subaru Legacy that had 3 door smart key.

One feature Toyota did include, is the ability to unlock all the doors from the driver’s side. If you grab the driver’s door handle and keep holding it for 2 seconds, all the doors will unlock. Hope this helps!

I try to beat my beloved to the car door, and take things to the hatch down the drivers side. As soon as all the doors are open, I lock the car from the inside.

I changed the setting so it always unlocks all doors.

Mine unlocked all doors & hatch out of the factory - but only from either the FOB or the Driver's door.

Mine is the Aussie base model, it's got RADAR Cruise, bluetooth, HUD, Lane Keep & cloth seats.

I guess they need to keep some "goodies" for those who pay the extra $8,000 for the top model.

I set it to unlock all doors on the first press using the remote. It’s nice they let us customize settings without a trip to the dealer.

I always keep the fob in my pocket. If I need to open the hatch I just quickly grasp the drivers door to unlock the others first. I can then open the hatch.

Slightly to one side of the main hatch open button, there's a smaller button for unlocking.

Thanks, all, for your ideas. I'll try to change the settings so it works to unlock all with the one click on the fob. Also interested in seeing if holding the handle for a few seconds more will do the same thing. Cool. Glad I asked!

That setting is on the MFD (large center screen). It is confusing that some settings are on the MFD & some on the MID.
