Car inspection laws suck everywhere they exist but I live in Pennsylvania so here goes.
It has never been proven that they have ever prevented an accident.
The people that do the inspection don't know the actual law or Jack Squat for that matter.
Elderly and women in general are taken to the cleaners by rip-off garages.
I have been personally put in to harms way by having an inspection done. (the wheel came off on the way home after inspection mechanic failed to tighten lugs.
I have personally had my car damaged by the inept inspection mechanic.
People in nearby states (Ohio) that have no real inspection can drive in my state.
Perfectly good vehicles are junked because they couldn't pass the inspection.
    Government intrusion into my life!
Keeps morons employed whose back woods garages would otherwise go out of business.
I hate other people being in my car.
    More to come.

Help me here, is the government doing more than deciding which vehicles can be operated on government built roads? You can still use them on the roads you built so you would not be a drain on the government, right?

State legislators would be the correct people to address your letter to, Priuschat members cannot change PA laws.

    Simple solution: stop driving.

I can't move just yet. I have too good of a job right now. I will retire in three years or less and then I will register in Florida. Too Far to bicycle to work or I would. Actually they (the government) are not doing a good job at this and I think I am capable of making that decision as far as safety is concerned. It was great the day I drove home from SAFETY inspection and the wheel fell off my truck. Great SAFETY inspection!

This might shock you but I don't trust them after my last service (RAV4). They used Castrol motor oil when they changed my oil after I asked for and was promised genuine Toyota parts.
