    So I have a question.
The HOV sticker came with a paper (to be placed in the car) that has the licence plate#.
So if I want to personalize my plate#, do I have to re-apply for the HOV stickers?

Used to have "51 MPG", but bcause my mileage is now down to around 46, I've decided to switch to the more honest "LOLGAS"

This is a good question and one that I didn't think of when I got my personalized plates a couple of months ago. My HOV stickers are still registered to my old plates. Or is it the VIN they're resistered to? I need to check into this. Thanks for putting the question in my head!

Now that I'm no longer living in the US and no longer own a Prius :-( my old plate is up for grabs. If anybody in North Carolina wants to get /dev/hyb and put it on a Prius, preferably a white '05, I would be very grateful.

I'm in NC and just bought my silver 07 on saturday...

Great ideas here. i was considering YOURMPG? I'm also tempted to go with SMUG - both a play on SMOG and a good description of my overwhelming feelings of self-righteousness. Any thoughts? I've got about 27 days to decide.

    my apologies...

my boyfriend tells me that my idea of using "SMUG" references an episode of Southpark, and that I have most likely offended you all...

We're not offended. We're too smug to be offended.

And, at least most of us have a sense of humor.

Sounds good to me. I've been considering VOLT AGE as a plate, too, but maybe for a PHEV...

If I was going to get a personalized plate for the Prius, I would be tempted to get NOT A CAB.

There are 75+ Prius taxis here, and that would make mine stand out from the crowd.

    *Grumble*

The UK has stupid Number Plate laws. Personalising them is a real pain in the you-know-where.

We could get P4LUG but that's about as close as we could get to anything fun... :(

Being the dogged online game-player I am, this seemed appropriate for my wheels and my avatar! :D

The VIN is on the certificate from California DMV along with the license plate. It might not be necessary to get a new certificate, but I'd play it safe and check with DMV.
