Probably very few as most were impaled on the 3 foot wide steering wheel first. My Energi has up to three ways to perform many functions like volume or HVAC: voice control, touch screen, or tactile objects (knobs/switches/buttons). I use those three methods in an approximate ratios of 0.1%, 30% and 70%. With it's large touchscreen used for nearly everything, I don't see how a Model 3 could ever be lent out without basic training. That's innovation going in the wrong direction.
do not know about the real knobs on the radio, but Clarkson and Co were the real knobs on TV once upon a time.
You use the past tense as of he'd stopped. Nope just stopped on TG but he's still irritating elsewhere on the airwaves.
One of the highest paid broadcasters at the Beeb. It annoys me that as a supposed DJ he persistently talks over the tracks he's playing, even curtailed those tracks he personally doesn't favour.
I have a 2016 Honda Fit. And this all happened with this model line. The 2016 Honda Fit EX, has a "knobless" entertainment MFD. Volume is adjusted either using the flat panel, or using the "button" on your steering wheel. People did complain and bemoan the absence of a simple turnable "knob"...and Honda put it back. Personally? With all the advancement, and as much as we all now expect flat touch controls, I think the simple ergonomics of having a graspable knob for some applications will never die. I personally? Well, I kind of like NOT having a knob in my Fit, I think it makes the dash look cleaner and more modern. BUT...it's not a big deal. I pretty much use the steering wheel "buttons" to adjust....so the times I'm actually reaching for the MFD to make a change are nearly non-existent. But I think it's pretty fundamental. Knobs are good. And sometimes, for some applications, they are the best interface you can have and provide.
I still do not like the lack of physical keyboards on cell phones. I seem to do better with the Apple products than the Android virtual keyboards. Here is the last one I had with a decent keyboard, IMHO.
They could always go the way of the Gen 2 - it had buttons that could be flush with the dash or pop out if you wan to use them.
