Okay, but I'll say that the Prius is definitely bigger inside. :) Not that the Volt is small, because it's got space too, just not as much as the Prius.

    Excluding the PHV, of course.

The smooooothness of the PHV over the 2010 is quite a thrill. We figured the 60kW motor was being under utilized. Getting to drive the PHV confirmed it. It's very much a mixed blessing that Toyota is taking the time to do it right... which should mean wide availability at an affordable price.

By 2012 when that happens, the hype with Volt should have transformed to realistic expectations. Keep sharing your experiences with us. Thanks.

    Congrats.

Glad to hear it's a nice ride. Toyota needs some competition to keep them honest.

I say we all car pool to IL and get our own personal test drives! Who is with me??!?! It can't be much worse weather wise than what we've got here on the EC currently!

We'll make sure to get bisco a bib, we wouldn't want him to drool all over the car! lol

I have found that when the gas engine is on, it gets anywhere from 35-41mpg.

Now the cool thing is, the Volt records your driving style and gives you a number of what it thinks your EV range will be, yesterday morning, I walked out to the garage and the battery was at 93% and the range said 43 miles. So hopefully in the summer time, it may be able to pull off 50 miles per charge. I heard that some people in warm climates got 70 miles before! So we will have to see. :)

    Oh, okay.
See, unfortunately, I haven't been able to take a "real life" journey in a stock Prius PHV yet. I've only went around a small track at the Green Drive Expo. I'm glad to hear that it's as smooth at the Volt though! Thank you John!

If any of you text and would like to keep in touch with me and be informed with "live time" data with the Volt, private message me and I'll send you my mobile number. :)

I don't hate the Volt. It is only a car. I just don't like how GM is marketing it. They want you to believe it is an electric car yet it only shows gasoline consumption in the car.

That's like Prius reporting only the Ethanol consumption (with E10 gas) and displaying 345 MPG on the screen.

Thanks, nothing complex. Just sit in the rear seat with a camera in your hand. Point it down and take a pic of your shoes. Repeat that in your Prius. Of course, your shoes will be the reference point.
