Both the Blink and ChargePoint cards I have are RFID - no magnetic strip. Just put the card up to the front of the charging station and it reads the card.

Sorry about the chips. I got a 1/4" chip in the 2009 going to/fro mendocino in CA. Lot more stuff can happen on a road trip. Road are dirty, trucks hauling.

I've seen a temporary plastic wrap for front end in Griot's Garage catalog, but not in latest catalog. Or, can don the front bra or at least hood bra just for a trip.

WOW, I guess the Lithium battery in the PiP helps tremendously with fuel economy.

The Entune Apps can use your iPhone's internet connection over Bluetooth, so just don't connect USB and everything should work fine.

If you want to connect to USB (say for charging), try disabling the Bluetooth music connection. The USB connection for playing music is more full-featured anyways. I don't think the phone connection works over USB, so I think that has to stay enabled. There also should be a way to enable/disable the Bluetooth internet connection, but I haven't seen/found it.

I have been watching for posts from you, remembering that you live in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. I was travelling myself the last few days, taking mostly I-44 and I-40 headed home from Ohio. (Drving my Lexus, not the PiP) I hope you get home to find no damage to your home and those of your friends, and any family you might have in the area.
Travel safely. I've enjoyed reading about your trip.
BTW, I had a tire go flat at 75 mph, 30 miles west of Kingman, Az. Glad I had a spare, even though it meant unloading the trunk to get to it. Auto Club truck took way over an hour, and by then I had finished the job and called in to cancel the tow truck. Makes me all the more convinced I need to get a donut for the PiP.

You can also see the different shade of the Charge port door. It is clearly of a lighter color than the rest of the car's body. This is noticeable on pictures but not that noticeable in person.

I bought some after-market side moldings through Danny's PriusChat Shop, and they are a different color than the doors, but appear to be the same color as the car below the car doors. Notice the difference. I don't think the color difference is any big deal, at least not to me. From a distance, it all looks good.
