That is not a Hybrid capable code reader. There may be Hybrid codes your not harvesting. You must use an OBD device that has Toyota Techstream software.

The 505 is probably a dirty throttle body. The P0016 is concerning. Reflects timing chain slop it has a master timing issue. Maybe a clogged VVT oil filter. Is this car new to you?

Have you ever ran the car so low on oil the Check Engine light came on or the big red triangle or you saw them flash on and off?

The P0016 sometimes will launch if the bottom end of the motor is bad an you have alot of vibration in the engine that distorts the fg/pg pulses those senors are counting.

Hi there , the car runs fine but after about 100km the check engine light comes on , but I can’t see anything wrong , there isn’t even any weird noise coming from under the hood. I had the car for about 2 month

But I think I will go ahead and replace the timing chain and probably the water pump

There's no way the timing chain needs to be replaced with 126,000 miles unless the car has never had its oil changed.

There's been very few G2 timing chains replacements on this forum. Its a big job.

P0505 has to do with the VSS, not throttle body.

Any issues with your speedometer, and all that? Does it give corresponding readings with your scantool when you driving and viewing the life data? That accounts for the P0505.

Everything seems fine , the speedo works fine , could it be the sppedometer causing it

The only thing I noticed it’s that at idle it sometimes shakes for a little bit but only for few seconds

Appologies to End Jere people! The p0505 code as he said was correct.

I was suffering some kind of hangover from sleep:D. I instead said it was a p0500 code, relating to the speedometer.

PS: the idle air control valve for the OPs car could be bad.
    Dxta.

Huh?? Prius does not have an IAC valve. Idle control is managed by the EMU using the throttle body motor.

Men, you really do need to get some sleep.

At any rate, as @edthefox5 said, unless you have a Prius literate scan tool, you're just guessing. And that costs way more than the right diagnostic tool.
