Aren't the above analyses for a Gen-II Prius? Good info, but be careful, lest someone mention that fact and that this is a Gen-III forum! :nono:

For what it's worth, Amazon.com currently is offering free shipping on Eneos oils. Eneos 0W-20 is factory fill for the Prius, from what I have gathered.

Also, since ATFs have been mentioned, Eneos has recently developed an "Eco-ATF" product, which meets Toyota's ATF-WS, yet this product isn't compatible with CVTs. Does anyone know of any other compatible brand of ATF for our Priuses besides Toyota's own, or Redline D6?

Sorry, I sometimes read Gen III threads forgetting where I am. You should get similar results using the OCI's I have, seeing the Gen III's hold an extra quart. Even Wal-Mart has an ATF that "claims" to meet Toyota WS, not that it would be my first choice. WS isn't so special, and I'm positive it's not synthetic. The main reason I posted these UOAs, is that a lot of people seem to be so worried about going past 5k on an oil change.

Re: Please post your UOA here to compare.

Thanks for the info, however, the current price on Amazon is 8.99 for the 0w20 full synthetic molybdenium etc... but my dealer charges OTC 8.50 for the Toyota 0w20. they also sell (suprisingly) Mobil 0w20 about 1 dollar more if I remember.... Mobil 0w20 is available localy for less the 8.50 !!!

Just a simple question. Anyone knows if the Toyota brand is inferior to others... my thinking is that it must be made for them by some oil company right??? So why not to use Toyota's oil (I will do maintenance with them anyway ...) I will have 4000 miles to go for the next oil change sometime in march ...:)

I got the revised report, and replaced the attachment... it seems that some of the baseline number to compare the result changed a little.

The last time I went for oil change I was too busy and forget to take the oil container with me so missed the 20,000 at 10,000 the manager did not specifically written the order so the mechanic did not know what the the bottle was for (although it was marked ...)

so this is the only 2nd oil sample at 30k miles (and change) oil was slightly under 10k ... I am pleased with the evaluation ....

Here's my last UOA @30K miles. I use Mobil-1 0W20 and a TRD oil filter (better filtering, better construction, worth extra price for 10K oil changes).

    Thanks for posting...

It seems very similar except the Molybdemium .. which is significantly higher in mine. I have no idea what that means (good? bad? or no-big deal?)....

I use whatever the dealership uses they do charge for full synthetic 0w20 4 quart .... but no specific on make ... I know they do sell/stock Mobil 1 in the parts store but not sure what they put in the car.... is that really matter that much ??? if I do change every 10k ???

You can post this at Bobistheoilguy.com too, for copious comments. Looks pretty good to me, though...

Mo is an anti-wear additive in oil. Mo levels are very high in Toyota 0W-20 SM oil. In SN oils, formulations generally use much less Mo.

    Here is my UOA @40k

The only worries is that now Blackstone indicated 5W30 ... dam I hope Toyota puts the right kind in the car (but I had no real mpg hit as a matter of fact it was better the earlier period)

It tested as 30 oil, but UOA mistakes are very common. I stopped doing UOA after getting nonsense results from one lab. No quality control in this industry whatsoever.

actually very little highway driving at all ... 75% city of New York and local streets 25% of parkway ... no real highway driving (speeds over 65 is probably less then 10%)

According to the invoices only the first change at 5k was Mobil1 the others including the last was Toyota syn 0w20 so this result of a toyota oil ....

This time I saw the guy going to the "wall" and fill up a bucket and pour it in .... so whatever in those pipes .... goes to the engine again I paid for the synthetic oil change according to the paperwork.

The OP (original poster) thinks all of us (AOU) should know what UOA stands for. And, apparently, is very proud to show off that he/she (H/S) is a master of this insider knowledge (IK). So that leaves the ROU (rest of us) with the chore of researching just what UOA SF (stands for). The OP must be one of those fun people (TFP). Either that or H/S is 6 years old, mentally (6YO,M).

    VOW (vent over with).

if you don't know what UOA is, you clearly will not benefit from clicking on this thread.
not everything has to be spoonfed, sometimes you can learn by searching too.
