    Hello Prius chat,

This is an open letter to Prius chat members and Toyota Corp., please someone replace my car.
I have a 2012 Prius v (wagon) with 48K miles, long story short, it has been to the dealership over 11 times for issues with the brakes (the TSB for brake squeal and howl sound has been done TWICE already), as well I have had Two Hybrid Warning Light occurrences once 8/15 and most recently 12/15. Both times car has stopped while driving, most recent time (12/15) it was towed to dealership. To make matters worse they damaged the car while at the dealership.

I have filed for Lemon law arbitration Two times, this will be my Third time. I have reached out to Toyota to resolve to no avail. I have tried every possible avenue without resorting to litigation. I just want replacement of my vehicle.

    It has been in the shop since purchased (6/12) on 10/31/12 (miles 4,808), 7/6/13, 11/11/13, 1/20/14, 2/5/14, 3/24/14, 4/30/14, 2/14/15, 5/19/15, 8/13/15, 12/29/15 for over 40 days.

It has been taken in for brake issues over 11 times, 2 times for hybrid warning system, 2 times for parts falling off or missing, 1 time for problems with Entune/Navigation/Reverse Camera issue.

I have been a loyal Toyota customer (2001 Prius, 1997 Tercel, 2002 Echo).

I can't do this back and forth anymore! Please Toyota Corp or someone help me please.

Sounds like you need to consult an attorney.

    Hi Topp Cat

Yes I know problems started before 18,000 miles or 2 years. I can still file for Lemon Law

I believe if the problems you experience are fixed then it's not considered a lemon. It can only be a lemon if the "same" problem occurs and it can't be fixed after trying 3 separate times. If you have multiple issues and they are fixed every time, it does not mean the car is a lemon. Just a problematic car.

I know nothing about this attorney. I just googled it. Just google Los Angeles Attorney Howard D. Silver. He is an attorney that specializes in the Lemon Law, according to his advertisement. He is actually located in Oak Park, CA.

You are talking to a bunch of owners, not anyone associated with Toyota or who has the power to cause them to take a specific action.

You have asked the local dealer's customer relations manager (not the service department manager) to get the Toyota regional experts involved in your case? Every dealer is required to have a person who is empowered to call for Regional Level assistance and action. Most regions have experts with specific car experience who visit the dealers regularly.

(I once had a car (not a Toyota) with so many problems the folks in my office joked about me having an assigned parking spot at the dealers. I sold it a week before the warranty ran out. I fell your pain.)
