That's truly a new one, I haven't actually seen someone do that before.

    Here's a couple ignorant tools in the Boston area - nothing says entitled like a range rover;

Now here - we have the paragon of entitlement. Not only do you drive a car that exudes arrogance, you park in a stall that blocks people from potentially going anywhere, & then, in order to top your own entitled arrogance, you dare not let anyone park next to you. So you necessarily shift over just enough so that the other charging stall gets blocked as well.

I normally abhor retribution, but if people like this got their car keyed, I don't think I would cry a river.

My Leaf was keyed last month because I parked in an EV spot and was charging... The lady in the junky SUV ICEd the spot next to me and keyed my car. Yay people.

Yeah, with fake accident people deliberately smacking into cars, to shake down insurance companies, we recently saw the wisdom in spending $100s on a Dual Channel dashcam - forward & rear views. All it has to do is record one scumbag & it more than pays for itself, just on the cost of your ins. deduction alone. It makes me wonder how many dashcam owners never reported to the police, but rather when their car gets keyed, presuming it's at their home or work location, and they know who the person is ..... yea better not go there ....
    Yay people -

My goodness that’s terrible. I’m worried about that happening to my new Prime as well. Why are parts of humanity so ugly?

I'd rather call parking enforcement or a tow truck, and get and post a video of the result.

In my area, I'd take bets that the most keyed car is a BMW.

Another form of retribution I'd like to see: a qualifying plug-in vehicle come along, and double-park in a way that reaches the cord but blocks the offender from leaving, without blocking other traffic. Then leave the plugged in car until the charge cycle is complete. The offender cannot complain about being blocked without risking a citation for his own illegal parking.

The layout of many EV spaces may not allow such retribution. And some jurisdictions may not have a large penalty for illegal use of EV spaces.

I know this would not stop us from getting ICEd, but I wish the wording in the EV charging parking spots was better where I live. Most of them have a sign that says “EV Parking Preferred”. That just opens the door right up to a non-EV to park there.

Friend's old townhome had every other parking space assigned to a home. His neighbor had parked over their spot into the non-assigned one.
I was so tempted to squeeze my beater in there, and then climb out the trunk.

This is why I'll be happy when I get my Prime (hopefully next week), Toyota pays my insurance so any issues will be free to repair.

But I'm definitely investing in dash cams

mia culpa: i parked in one of the two ev charging spaces at whole foods. since they switched from free single eves to tandem charge point, they haven't been getting much use.
there was a tesla charging in the other space. i wasn't charging, just using the open spot.
when i came out, a leaf had parked next to me, and managed to plug in. fortunately, he didn't key me.:)
i'm gonna have to park elsewhere in the future.

don't feel bad, our Leaf got keyed up & down one side for no apparent reason about 3 yrs ago. Then after the better ½ bumped it with the hybrid SUV, it (the dents) really was no big deal.
On a happier thought - we just got to the ½ way point on our all electric 1800 mile round trip adventure. We're in Park City Utah. Sightseeing is cool, but this is one of these coolest of the cool sites so far:

Hopefully none of the diesel bus owners will key it out of jealousy.

A friend in St George, then a time share stay here .... but a cannonball run on the way back, starting Sunday night b4 holiday traffic starts. Utah & Nevada have 80mph speed limits, so even w/ four 35min stops - the return trip should be in just under 12 hrs. Driving 80mph in the old range rover, the fuel (at present day value) would have cost us over $500 ... instead of free.

I couldn't park my car to plug in this morning, as all spots were taken. I just went out to plug in because one spot became available, and all the SAME cars are parked and plugged in as this morning. They're all done charging too. Really irks me, as I'm always trying to get out there to move my car when it's done. I almost feel like keying them!

Maybe a kind (anonymous) note, left on the windshield, would remind them there are other EVs out there . . .
